The Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments Friday for charges of child sexual abuse and strangulation.
43-year old Dominique Jason Saxton, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on six counts of first-degree sexual abuse with a victim under 12 years of age. According to the arrest report, Saxton went to the Hopkinsville Police Department and admitted to subjecting a minor family member to sexual contact five or six times at their residence starting in February through the first part of April.
The grand jury indicted 53-year old Eric Louis Smith, of Oak Grove, on charges of first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault – child abuse. The charges stem from February 12 when Oak Grove police reported Smith was in a physical altercation with his daughter when he allegedly picked her up by her throat and threw her to the ground. While on the ground, police said he allegedly kept his hands on her throat to the point where she was unable to breathe.
And 19-year old Xavier Smith, of Hopkinsville, was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse. The arrest warrant says that on April 18, Smith grabbed a female victim from behind, touching her buttocks and private area.
