A retired assistant superintendent of the Christian County School District passed away Thursday.
According to Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 83-year old Jerry Sam Vaughan, of Hopkinsville, passed away at Morningside Assisted Living.
Vaughan graduated from Austin Peay State University and Murray State University. He began his teaching career in 1960. He taught and coached many sports at Hopkinsville High School, Koffman Middle School and Christian County High School and also served as an athletic director at CCHS. In addition, Vaughn served as the assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School and assistant superintendent of Christian County Public Schools before retiring in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Carroll Vaughan of Hopkinsville and three brothers and several other relatives.
