An Elkton woman was charged after she reportedly bit two deputies on Butler Road in Todd County Friday afternoon.
Todd County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the area for a complaint of a vehicle stopped in the roadway.
During the investigation, 22-year-old Maraya Wentzel reportedly got one of her two children out of the vehicle and attempted to run from deputies.
Deputies say a struggle took place and she bit them on their hands and arms before they were able to get the child away from her.
She was reportedly found to be under the influence of some kind of intoxicant. She is charged with DUI, resisting arrest, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, two counts of criminal abuse, and two counts of third-degree assault.
Both deputies were treated at a medical facility for minor injuries.
