Memorial Day is a time for gathering with friends and family, but it is also a time for honoring our heroes. More than 50 people gathered at the Riverside Cemetery Monday to do just that.
Retired First Sergeant, and Executive Director of the Office of Kentucky Veterans Services, Alvin Duncan, reminded the crowd how Memorial Day started.
He says the sacrifice of every generation is something we have to remember.
That future, he adds, is our children.
The service was hosted by VFW Post 1913. Duncan also spoke at the Sunrise service at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West.
