Tuesday marks the official start of the Meteorological Summer and temperatures will remain warmer this week.
Weather Edge forecaster David Powell says rain chances will begin to pick up Tuesday afternoon.
Powell adds the weather pattern over the next few weeks features chances for showers and storms. He says the area needs precipitation as we are about two inches below normal.
June as a whole looks to be cooler than normal.
Powell adds the area will not see many cicadas this year.
