Trigg County school board members approved two purchases last week to help teachers with additional training and offer a virtual program for students in 6th through 12th grade.
The board approved the purchase of EdConnective, which included a one-year contract for nearly $270,000. Director of Curriculum and Instruction Karen Solise said the program would individually help 130 teachers, four principals, and four assistant principals that work in the district.
Solise added the certified teachers that EdConnective employs are trained in the area that each teacher needs and they are familiar with Kentucky education standards.
The board also approved a three-year contract with Edgenuity for $57,600. The program will replace the FuelEd A+ program that is no longer being offered and is used for students participating in virtual school. The program will be utilized for students between 6th and 12th grade and those participating in credit recovery.
Both programs were approved unanimously.
