The Christian County Clerk’s Office will close at noon Thursday and Friday, June 17 and 18, due to an air conditioning problem in the courthouse.
Deputy Clerk Melinda Humphries tells the News Edge the decision was made because of the hot conditions outside and the lack of airflow and ventilation inside the courthouse. All of the offices of the county clerk will be open to the public each day from 8 am until noon.
County Treasurer, Walter Cummings tells the News Edge they have experienced a lot of issues with the heating/cooling unit at the Christian County Courthouse.
He adds a technician will be on-site Friday to see what’s wrong with the unit.
Cummings says the unit will be repaired Friday or hopefully the beginning of next week.
