The Hopkinsville Salvation Army chapter invites the community to a worship service Sunday as it will be the last for Majors Jose and Candi Marquez as they head off to begin their next chapter in Atlanta, Georgia.
Major Jose tells the News Edge they have been re-assigned to the Atlanta Temple Corps.
Jose says he and his wife Candi filled many roles while being the pastors for the last seven years with the local chapter.
The Sunday service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Hopkinsville Salvation Army Worship Center at 304 E. 7th Street.
Jose thanks all of the volunteers who have been involved with the organization while they have been in town.
He also sends a special thank you to those who have volunteered as bell-ringers and local civic organizations that have donated to the program.
