Magistrates took time Tuesday morning to honor and remember a former Caldwell County Emergency Manager who passed away Friday.
Judge-Executive Larry Curling said George David Crenshaw started working in emergency services nearly 45 years ago, making a lasting impact in the Princeton-Caldwell County community.
Crenshaw also taught various Red Cross classes and served as their Director in Caldwell County. He was an avid Ducks Unlimited supporter, founding the Caldwell County chapter and serving as chairman. Crenshaw also served as the Personnel and Purchasing Manager at the Princeton Hosiery Mill.
Magistrate Jeff Boone added Crenshaw truly dedicated his life to serving his community. Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson and Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis both said Crenshaw would be greatly missed.
Crenshaw was a Caldwell County native and was 82-years-old. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Rose Crenshaw, a sister and brother, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at Noon at Prospect Cemetery in Hopkins County. A visitation will be held at Morgan’s Funeral Home on Friday morning from 9:00 until 11:00.
