A Trigg County native will be opening a new lumber facility on Cerulean Road that is expected to create 35 full-time jobs.
PJ Clark Lumber, based in Coppell, Texas, was founded earlier this year by Jacob Wadlington. His family has owned TW Lumber in Cadiz and operated a sawmill for over 25 years.
PJ Clark will occupy the former Little River Dry Kiln facility, an operation that includes 11 dry kilns, a planner and grading facility, and a warehouse on 23 acres. Prior to Little River Dry Kiln, the site was Bailey Lumber Company for many years.
The Cadiz operation will begin with the production of kiln-dried softwood and hardwood lumber. PJ Clark will source lumber from local partners in Kentucky to be kiln-dried and processed, with the final product distributed for residential construction. Company leaders expect to create 13 full-time jobs during the first year of operation and increasing to a staff of at least 35 by 2023.
The location of PJ Clark in Cadiz and Trigg County will represent a $5 million investment.
