Police Continuing To Investigate Lake Area Where Human Remains Found

Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the area on Lake Barkley where human remains were found Sunday morning in Trigg County.

Detectives said divers were searching the area which is located north of the Lawrence Memorial Bridge on Monday in an attempt to locate more remains. On Tuesday, dragging operations were conducted.

Kentucky State Police say they were called by Stewart County, Tennessee officials Sunday about the location of possible human remains. Detectives say the investigation is still in the early stages and it’s not immediately known if DNA can be obtained for a possible match. They are checking the national database for missing and exploited persons for any leads.

At this time, KSP detectives are requesting any information that may assist in the identification of the partial remains. Below are photos of items located with the remains including a black and blue size 10 Nike Air Max shoe, a pair of gray size medium Hanes thermal pants, a pair of black size 36 MNML jeans, and a black size medium belt.

Police ask if you have any information about this case to contact Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721.
