Officials with Christian County Public Schools made a presentation to the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club Thursday regarding the possible consolidation of the two high schools.
Superintendent Chris Bentzel explained the possible consolidation of Christian County High and Hopkinsville High schools has not been finalized and they are in the process of getting the community on board.
Assistant Superintendent of Operations Josh Hunt says a consolidated school would provide more academic opportunities for all students as well as small school opportunities.

And consolidating the schools would bring the transformation of the CCPS Secondary Education Model through academies.
Bentzel also reiterated there will be no nickel tax or raising taxes to go toward the $100 million construction facility because the district can self-fund this project by using a grant, Cares Act/ESSER funding, and a substantial increase in the district’s bonding capacity.
