Trigg Grand Jury Indicts Crofton Man on Rape Charges

A Crofton man has been indicted by a Trigg County grand jury on charges of raping a minor child three years ago.

35-year-old James A. McKinney was indicted on charges of first-degree rape and first-degree persistent felony offender. The indictment from the Kentucky State Police investigation alleges McKinney twice had sex with a minor less than 12 years old in 2018 and had been convicted of at least two prior felony offenses.

Elsewhere, a Cadiz man was indicted on assault and attempting to disarm a police officer stemming from an April incident involving a Trigg County sheriff’s deputy.

23-year-old Coty Hicks saw a true bill returned charging him with third-degree assault; attempting to disarm a police officer; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct; criminal mischief; and terroristic threatening.

The indictment alleges Coty Hicks assaulted Deputy Gary Hicks during an April 24 arrest and tried to disarm him during the course of the arrest.

Two Trigg County residents were indicted on drug trafficking charges stemming from a Cadiz Police Department investigation. 18-year-old Brianna Hunsinger and 43-year-old Troy Anderson were both charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Anderson was indicted for being a second-degree persistent felony offender.

22-year-old Evante L. Milligan of Hopkinsville was indicted on charges of first-degree burglary; fourth-degree assault; criminal mischief; and three counts each of first-degree wanton endangerment and third-degree terroristic threatening. The charges are the result of a January Cadiz Police investigation.

27-year-old Michael Maltman of Cadiz was indicted on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment and three counts of menacing that was the result of a Cadiz Police investigation in March.

And four people were indicted on a charge of fraudulent use of a credit card under $10,000 that was the result of an investigation by Lake Barkley State Park Ranger Shannon Keller. 26-year-old Vivian Haddock, and 24-year-old Deziree Baker — both of Cadiz; and 32-year-old Donnie Thomas and 29-year-old Keisha Stewart — both of Hopkinsville — were charged with the fraudulent use between August 16 and September 24 last year. The charges were over $500 but less than $10,000 during that time.
