Christian County Public Schools Superintendent Chris Bentzel announced Monday that Mancell Elam has been selected to be the district’s first Diversity Administrator.
District spokesman John Rittenhouse says Elam is returning to Christian County Public Schools after serving as a principal in the Fulton Independent Schools district.
Superintendent Bentzel says the diversity administrator position requires a level-headed leader to ensure the district provides all students with an equitable education and Elam is the right person for the task.
Rittenhouse says Elam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Murray State University, along with multiple Master’s Degrees from Murray State, Bethel College, the University of the Cumberlands, and has Rank 1 standing. Before becoming the principal in Fulton, Elam reportedly taught eleven years in Christian County Public Schools, with his previous position as assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School in 2018.
Elam says he is grateful for the opportunity to be back with Christian County Public Schools, and he looks forward to working with students, staff, and the community.
Elam is married to Renisha Elam who is the principal at Freedom Elementary School in the district. They have two children, TaVionne and Xavier.
