Authorities were able to save a woman whose vehicle was trapped in floodwaters on Enon Road in Caldwell County Sunday morning.
Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to the area for a woman trapped in her vehicle that was swept off the roadway due to floodwaters and wedged between two trees in the ditch.
Deputy Chad Hawkins was reportedly able to use a tow strap secured to his vehicle and waded approximately 40 feet into the water to break the window on her vehicle to get her out and Deputy Josh Travis was able to pull them out of the water.
Deputies say the quick actions of Pennyrile central dispatch in the Caldwell County sheriff’s deputies saved the woman.
