A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly assaulted police officers on Canton Street in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Walmart Neighborhood Market for 26-year-old Abayomi Cousins who was talking to himself and attempted to take items out of the store.
He reportedly became aggressive towards law enforcement after being arrested on a warrant for failure to appear and started pulling away, kicking, and screaming.
Officers were allegedly hit several times while he was kicking at them. Cousins is charged with public intoxication, third-degree assault, and resisting arrest.
