A Hopkinsville man was arrested after he fled from law enforcement on North Iris Drive in Hopkinsville Wednesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were given information that 33-year-old Shawn Gilkey was in a vehicle stolen out of Marshall County and headed to Hopkinsville. Police went to Gilkey’s home on North Iris Drive and found the car in the driveway running and occupied.
As the officer waited for backup, Gilkey reportedly got out of the car and fled on foot. He was located by a police K-9 behind a home on Thomas Street.
Inside the vehicle, Police say an open container of alcohol was found. Gilkey is charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police and receiving stolen property.
