While heat indices are expected to top 100 degrees later this week, it’s been a cooler than normal summer with above-average rainfall helping make that happen.
Meteorologist Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service Office in Paducah said the region can expect some of the hottest weather of the year later this week with the heat index expected to top 100 degrees Thursday.
