The Trigg County community is mourning the loss of Dane Hughes, who served over 35 years in various fields of law enforcement.
Trigg County Judge-Executive Hollis Alexander tells the News Edge Hughes had worked as a member of county dispatch and the Cadiz Police Department. He also worked as a deputy sheriff and deputy jailer.
Alexander says he began working with Hughes on the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.
Alexander adds Hughes’ passing is a huge loss to the community.
Hughes passed away Monday evening at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville. He had been hospitalized for at least the last three months.
Hughes stepped away from his law enforcement career in December after working with the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time for Hughes, who was 57-years-old. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
