The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a fugitive.

Sheriff Brent White says 42-year old Rickey E. Baird is wanted out of Lyon Circuit Court for Failure to Appear in court on Monday for a methamphetamine-related case.

In addition, Sheriff White says Baird has a Parole Violation Warrant from the Kentucky Parole Board for multiple offenses including absconding from parole supervision. He indicates Baird was paroled in April 2019 after being convicted of multiple offenses in Lyon and McCracken counties including third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking under $10,000, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and cultivating marijuana.

According to Sheriff White, his office is continuing to investigate an incident at Baird’s property in Lyon County that occurred on Friday morning, July 16 shortly before 7:00 when deputies and Lyon County EMS were dispatched to a home on KY 1943 for an assault victim. The victim, who was severely injured, was reportedly transported to Caldwell County Medical Center after wandering to a home from a wooded area and asking for help. Sheriff White says it was later determined the victim was assaulted on Baird’s property.

Sheriff White says Baird is believed to be staying in the Paducah-McCracken County area. If anyone has information regarding Baird’s whereabouts, call local law enforcement and/or the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at (270) 388-2311 or www.lyonsheriff.com.
