Imagine you get home after a long day’s work, sit down to relax, and you get a call. For the men and women of the Christian County Rescue Team that call means potentially saving a life. This month marks the 50th Anniversary of their bravery and dedication to the citizens of the county. They had hoped to be in their new facility by this time, but Chief Randy Graham says, like other construction projects, COVID impacted the work.
To honor their 50th Anniversary, owners of Lamb Funeral Home – Dorris, Tammy and Zach Lamb – presented the Rescue Team with a wooden American flag plaque to display in their new facility.
Graham says the Lamb family has worked closely with Rescue over the years.
Over the last five decades, the members of the Rescue Team have responded to more than 10,000 calls ranging from offering first aid at festivals and events to working vehicle wrecks to helping find missing persons. Graham says there is one thing that is impressive about this group of 45.
That new facility, it is being constructed thanks to donors and a bank loan.
Donations can be made by contacting any Rescue Team member, mailing them to PO Box 392, Hopkinsville, KY 42241, or call them at 270-887-4150 and they will come pick it up.
