Motorists traveling in Hopkinsville need to be aware traffic will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday to allow bridge deck overlay work on the North Fork Little River Bridge.
District 2 spokeswoman Kiersten Jaggers says the project will be on North Main Street with traffic to be restricted to one lane from Bassett Avenue, southward through the bridge over North Fork Little River. The speed limit will be posted at 35 mph through the work zone.
Jaggers says the right lane will be closed for about two weeks, with the lane closure then moving to the left lane. The project should be completed in 30-40 days.
The maximum lane width is 14 feet.
According to Jaggers, local access to Sarah Avenue and Means Avenue will be provided. Trucks needing to access Kentucky American Seeds located on Means Avenue will need to use an alternate and take Glass Avenue to Elm Street to Means Avenue.
Jaggers says motorists should expect delays and use caution when driving through the work zone.
