Christian County paused to recognize a longtime business, a well-known farmer, and two agriculture community leaders during the annual Salute to Agriculture Breakfast Tuesday morning.
On hand to thank Christian County farmers for their leadership was Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles, who saluted the county for being the most organized agriculture county in the state.

Joseph Sisk presented the farmer of the year honor to Kirk Brunson.
Don Pemberton honored Buy Rite Parts and Supply and owner Jeff Davis as the agribusiness of the year.
And Jerry Gilliam presented the distinguished serve award to former Christian County Extension Agent Jay Stone, who recently transferred to Hopkins County.
Also during the breakfast, Christian County Tourism Director Brooke Jung unveiled a new logo and theme for Hopkinsville and Christian County, naming the community the Batter Capital.
Ben Bolinger and the Bolinger Auction team sold a Christian County 4-H country ham gift basket to F and M Bank for a donation of $11,500.
Pancakes for the breakfast were prepared by the H & R Agripower Pancake crew.
