A Trigg County Circuit Court jury returned a guilty verdict against a Cadiz man charged with stabbing his wife over two years ago.
Rico Cavanaugh, of Cadiz, was accused of stabbing Melissa Cavanaugh multiple times on June 8, 2019 at a home on Charleston Drive. She was taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Carrie-Ovey Wiggins tells the News Edge the jury returned a quick verdict Monday and recommended a sentence of over three decades.
