Officials with Christian County Public Schools will be hosting the final scheduled public forum Thursday night to discuss the consolidation of the two high schools and Gateway Academy.
Superintendent of Operations Josh Hunt said at a recent school board meeting the forum will be held at 6:00 p.m. at South Christian Elementary School.
click to download audioHe adds it will be in the gymnasium and attendees need to enter through the front door of the school.
Hunt also said the participation at the previous forums held at Christian County Middle School and Crofton Elementary School has been less than they anticipated.
click to download audioOfficials with the school district have met with several groups and organizations and presented the District Facilities Plan that includes consolidating Christian County High and Hopkinsville High schools, along with Gateway Academy into one building.
Hunt also announced at last week’s school board meeting the District’s Facilities Plan had been approved by the Kentucky Board of Education as is written. With the approval, the board now has the option to vote on the high school consolidation plan.
