According to the arrest citation, 29-year old Alonzo Lewis was taken into custody after Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies executed an indictment warrant at a home on West End Street in Cadiz shortly after 7:00 Saturday night. He was indicted by a Trigg County grand jury for second-degree burglary, second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot, resisting arrest, possession of meth and synthetic drugs, and public intoxication of a controlled substance, excluding alcohol.
The charges stem from May 9th when deputies reported that Lewis was seen crawling through the window of a home in Trigg County and then fled on foot before they arrived. Deputies said Lewis failed to comply with verbal commands and a K-9 was used to apprehend him. He was then taken to Trigg County Hospital with minor injuries due to a dog bite.
Following his arrest Saturday night, Lewis was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
