POWERBALL Adding Monday Drawing Nationwide

Your chances of winning the POWERBALL® are about to improve.

Beginning next week, America’s jackpot game will have weekly Monday drawings, joining the rotation alongside the typical Wednesday and Saturday lotteries.

Officials from the Powerball Product Group anticipate the addition of a Monday Powerball drawing should result in larger, faster-growing jackpots, as well as an increase in awarded jackpots and other cash prizes on an annual basis.

Adding a third drawing, officials added, will not change POWERBALL® odds or the set cash prizes. Players will continue to choose five numbers, from 1 to 69, and one POWERBALL® number from 1 to 26.

Also on Monday in 13 states, a new Double Play® feature will be offered — in which players can spend $1 per ticket for another chance to match their POWERBALL® numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million. Indiana, Tennessee and Missouri are among the 13 states getting this feature at launch.

As always, players can watch POWERBALL® and Double Play® drawings live online at powerball.com with a new live-stream feature that launched this past summer, or listen for numbers online at WKDZ/WHVO/WPKY radio.

Just like Wednesday and Saturday drawings, Monday winnings will contribute to funding public programs and services in jurisdictions where tickets are sold. Since 1992, POWERBALL® has generated more than $25 billion for state lotteries.

POWERBALL® tickets are $2 per play, and are sold in 45 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
