A Trigg County native, who worked for Newschannel 5 in Nashville, died in a motorcycle crash Saturday in the Smoky Mountains.
According to Newschannel 5 David Birdsong was a member of the engineering team at the television station. He formerly worked at TV 43 in Hopkinsville. Birdsong was a graduate of Trigg County High School.
The Newschannel 5 team described David as one of the kindest people a person could ever meet. They also described him as a skilled engineer who could repair it all, and was one of the first people to show when help was needed.
David is survived by his sons Matt, Carson, and Ross.
