Win The Chance to Fire the Starting Gun For Hoptown Half Marathon

With the Third Annual Hoptown Half Marathon less than two weeks away, registration continues and a new fundraiser will give one person a chance to fire the starting pistol for the September 18th event.

The annual event raises over $14,000 for local charities with the 2021 races to benefit Challenge House and the United Way of the Pennyrile.

Taylor Duke, the new marketing and events coordinator for the Planters Bank/Jennie Stuart Sportsplex Hopkinsville, said there are several ways to donate even if you don’t lace up the shoes and run.

The half marathon and 5K is a joint race through Hopkinsville and Christian County that begins and ends in downtown Hopkinsville. Registration for the half marathon, the 5K race, and Wally’s Walkers can be found at hoptownhalf.com. Duke said volunteers are also needed for the races.
