The suspect in the double murder of two Cadiz residents earlier this year has been extradited from California and is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
29-year-old Landon Stinson was booked into jail Monday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance first-degree. The jail website said Stinson was being held with no bond.
Stinson is scheduled to be arraigned on the drug charge in Trigg County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. However, the Trigg County grand jury is scheduled to meet prior to the court session that morning and could return an indictment on additional charges.
According to the Los Angeles County Municipal Court website, Stinson was arrested in California days after the murders on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Kentucky State Police said they wanted to question Stinson in connection to the murders of 76-year-old Sue Faris and her 28-year-old great-nephew Matthew Blakeley. They were both found dead in Faris’ Cerulean Road home on July 3. Autopsies determined they both died from gunshot wounds.
State Police has not confirmed if Stinson is the only suspect in the case or if state police were seeking an accomplice.
