A Cadiz man was charged after he reportedly led Trigg and Caldwell County deputies on a pursuit Friday morning.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they were contacted by Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies after a vehicle fled from them into Trigg County with a stolen motorcycle in the trunk.
Deputies reportedly located the vehicle driven by 26-year-old Cody Collins and attempted to conduct a traffic stop when he fled swerving back and forth into oncoming lanes of traffic.
Deputies say the pursuit came to an end after they used a pursuit intervention technique to disable his vehicle and stop the pursuit.
Collins reportedly got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody. He was allegedly found to have a gun, an open container of alcohol, meth, and the stolen motorcycle in his possession.
Deputies say the vehicle he was driving had an incorrect license plate and he had no insurance. He was taken to the hospital after claiming to have chest pains.
Collins is charged with possession of meth, resisting arrest, first-degree fleeing or evading police, DUI, receiving stolen property, and third-degree criminal mischief. He was also arrested on warrants for failure to appear and contempt of court.
