The Christian County Health Department is reporting four additional deaths linked to the COVID-19 virus, and the highest number of active cases since January.
Thursday afternoon, the health department reported two men — ages 69 and 80; a 44-year-old Hispanic man; and an 84-year-old woman died with the virus, adding all four were unvaccinated. They said the Hispanic man had no underlying health conditions.
Christian County has reported 118 deaths of county residents since the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, the health department reports 726 active cases of COVID-19 among Christian County residents — the most since January 13. 87-percent of the active cases involve people under the age of 60, including one-third 21 and under.
In the past week, there were 439 new cases with 11-percent involving people who were vaccinated.
