The Christian County Health Department reported four deaths Thursday linked to the COVID-19 virus and an additional two deaths through the state’s reporting system.
Cloie Rager with the health department said three of the four deaths were not vaccinated. Two of the deaths were African-American and two were males. The deaths were a 75-year-old woman, a 66-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, and a 39-year-old woman.
In addition, Rager said a death from December and one from February were discovered in the state’s reporting system.
Christian County is reporting 344 active cases, down from last week’s total of 535 and 726 from two weeks ago. Of the 231 new cases reported in the past seven days, 11-percent were vaccinated.
57-percent of the active cases are between the ages of 22 and 59 and 26-percent are 21 and under.
The Christian County Health Department continues to offer free drive-through COVID-19 testing Monday through Thursday from 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM at the health department.
The health department also offers PCR testing and results are returned in 48 to 72 hours. In addition, they offer the Moderna vaccine, the Pfizer vaccine for people over the age of 12, and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM.
