Hopkinsville Man Charged With Meth Trafficking

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly fled from law enforcement on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Douglas Dotson and during the stop, he climbed into the back of the vehicle and exited a passenger door then fled on foot. He was reportedly located on Altsheler Drive and taken into custody after a foot pursuit through the Big Lots parking lot.

Police say 6 grams of suspected meth was located in his pants pocket and the vehicle was found to have been stolen out of Nashville, Tennessee.

Dotson is charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, first-degree fleeing or evading police, trafficking meth, and driving on a DUI suspended license.
