Kentucky Mental Health Centers To Receive $21.4 Million

Two area mental health centers will be among the recipients of $21.4 million dollars across the state of Kentucky. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell announced this week that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration was awarding the funds to five Community Mental Health Centers in the state.

Pennyroyal Regional Mental Health in Hopkinsville will receive $4,873,355 and Mountain Comprehensive Care Center in Prestonsburg will receive $4,000,000. Mountain Comprehensive Care operates offices Princeton, Hopkinsville, Benton, and Madisonville. McConnell says the funding will be used to address the needs of individuals who have serious emotional disturbance or serious mental illness, as well as a substance use disorder.

These federal resources were made available through the Consolidated Appropriations Act and the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplement Act. Other locations receiving funding are NorthKey Community Care of Covingtion ($5,000,000), Seven Counties Services of Louisville ($4,999,942), and New Vista of the Bluegrass in Lexington ($2,557,077).
