The suspect in the double murder of two Cadiz residents earlier this year has now been charged with two counts of murder by Kentucky State Police.

29-year-old Landon Stinson was extradited back to Kentucky from California last month to face a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Court records say Stinson was served with a Trigg County warrant on the murder charges by state police on Sept. 22. He was arraigned in Trigg County District Court on Sept. 23 and given a bond of $2 million cash.

Stinson has a preliminary hearing scheduled in Trigg District Court on October 21.

He is charged with the July 3 murders of 76-year-old Sue Faris and her 28-year-old nephew Matthew Blakeley. They were found dead in Faris’ Cerulean Road home. Autopsies determined they both died from gunshot wounds.

According to the Los Angeles County Municipal Court website, Stinson was arrested in California days after the murders on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

Few details about the case and Stinson’s subsequent arrest and murder charges have been released by state police.
