A Hopkinsville woman convicted by a jury in the murder of Armareya Freeman on Greenville Road more than two years ago was formally sentenced in Christian County Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Anshanique Leavell and her defense attorney, Michael Thompson, appeared virtually from the Christian County Jail before Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins for her sentencing.
Thompson asked the judge for the sentence to be concurrent instead of consecutive as recommended by the jury.

Leavell was convicted by a jury in October 2020 in the fatal shooting of Freeman shortly before midnight on June 6, 2019, at an apartment complex on Greenville Road.
