The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is hosting a book signing with best-selling author, Melissa Ferguson, at the library on Saturday.
Library Executive Director DeeAnna Sova says Ferguson’s debut novel, ‘Red Carpet Summer’, was released in 2018 with her follow-up rom-com novel, ‘The Dating Charade’, which established her as a romantic comedy author. She adds Ferguson also published, ‘The Cul-De-Sac Wars’, a Novella with authors, Denise Hunter and Kathleen Fuller. Her most recent book, ‘Meet Me in the Margins’, is set to be released in early 2022.
Sova says she is excited that the library’s Adult Services Team contacted Ferguson and invited her to be the library’s 2021 guest author. Sova says she had been a personal fan of Ferguson’s light romantic comedies since her 2nd book was published. She adds that Ferguson writes relatable books that make you feel good and laugh.
According to Sova, the local library has two book clubs are featuring two of Ferguson’s titles this month. She says The Books at the Bar book club meets the last Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company. Their book this month is ‘The Cul-De-Sac War’. Sova says The Book Club to Go discusses specifics about the book in an online forum on the library’s Facebook page. Their book is, ‘The Dating Charade’. Books are available for checkout at the library or on-line through the Overdrive/Libby App.
Sova says the library plans on hosting other author events that will engage readers of all ages. She notes the opportunity to interact with a best-selling author in a one-on-one setting is a great opportunity to ask questions about the characters, plot twist and to find out where the basis of the idea for the book was created.
