Christian County Magistrate Jerry Gilliam is running for County Judge-executive in 2022.
Gilliam announced his intentions to run for the top county post in the November 2022 General Election. He has served as a Magistrate in District Seven for the past three years after being elected in 2018.
Gilliam says Christian County needs a business-model approach to all spending and investments. He adds the county needs to focus on creating additional revenue sources that don’t unfairly burden residents, and he believes there needs to be a focus on economic development opportunities that best fit the community. Gilliam adds while he can contribute to that progress as a magistrate, he would lead that charge in a greater service capacity if elected Christian County Judge Executive.
Gilliam currently works with Ag Quest Financial Services. Prior to his current role, he was a professor and Chief Community, Workforce, and Economic Development Dean at Hopkinsville Community College.
