Pennyrile Electric customers in southern Christian and some portions of Trigg County were without power for nearly five hours following an accident near the Pee Dee substation.
Pennyrile Electric officials reported on the utility social media site that some farm equipment snagged one of the main lines along Binns Mill Road near the Pee Dee substation around 8:00 Tuesday night. The accident resulted in a broken electric pole that was carrying a number of wires at the substation.
Electricity remained off to more than 2,000 Pennyrile Electric customers until shortly before 1:00 Wednesday morning to allow workers to replace the electric pole that was broken during the accident.
