In what he called a “planned departure,” Christian County Public Schools Director of Communications John Rittenhouse’s term came to a close on Friday afternoon — with Karen Edwards taking over in the interim.
Through a prepared statement, Rittenhouse said he hopes he lived up to industry standards by providing timely information — no matter how comfortable or uncomfortable the subject matter.
Rittenhouse added that District Superintendent Chris Bentzel will begin the hiring process of a new communications/PR/media liaison, with hopes of finding the best person to meet the needs of a 21st Century school system, while studying what works and doesn’t work in public relations as it pertains to like-sized school systems.
