Cadiz Man Charged After Claiming To Have Been Shot

A Cadiz man was charged after he claimed that he was shot on Linda Lane Monday night.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say 19-year-old Terrence Bartges told his ex-girlfriend he had been shot twice by a juvenile and needed her help. Bartges’s ex-girlfriend called for law enforcement to respond to the scene. He was located on Lincoln Avenue, at Short Street, by his ex-girlfriend’s family. Bartges told them he had tossed a gun and narcotics into the woods, but investigators were unable to find them.

Deputies say Bartges had not been shot but did have cuts on his arms, was having trouble maintaining his balance, and had slurred speech.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
