Ward 7 Councilman Terry Parker announced at the beginning of the Committee of the Whole Meeting Thursday night that he will not be seeking another term on Hopkinsville City Council.
Parker said he is currently serving his 4th term on City Council and will not be seeking re-election.
He added that it’s been a great experience and opportunity for him to serve on the council but it’s time for him to move on and someone else serve Ward 7.
Parker, a retired Hopkinsville Police Officer and graduate of the FBI National Academy as well as the Academy of Police Supervision and Criminal Justice Executive Development, was elected to serve on City Council beginning in 2015. He currently serves as the Chair of the Committee of the Whole and serves on several boards, along with working with other community groups.
Parker is married to Christian County Circuit Court Clerk Paige Parker and they have two daughters Allyson McKenzie and Ashlyn Paige.
