The marching bands at both Christian County High and Hopkinsville High have advanced to the Kentucky Music Educators Association state competition to be this weekend in central Kentucky.
The Christian County High School Colonel Marching Band took first place at the Class 4A West Region competition Saturday at the Stadium of Champions. It was their best finish at region since 1996. They will be looking to advance to the finals for the first time since 1995.
The Hopkinsville High School Marching Band finished in third place and will also compete at the state semifinals Saturday at Bourbon County High School. Hopkinsville advanced to the state finals four straight years from 2015-19 and won the Class 4A state title in 2016.
