A Trigg County woman was charged with abuse of a corpse after an investigation Tuesday night into her child’s death on East Adams Mill Road.
Kentucky State Police say a 5-month-old boy was found deceased Tuesday night but had passed away on Monday. Police say the child’s mother, 28-year-old Shaylynn Curtis, took the deceased child’s body and drove to a friend’s house then returned home, wrapped the child in a blanket, and placed him in the attic of her home.
She reportedly made no attempts to call 911 or seek any medical assistance for the infant. Law enforcement was called Tuesday night by Curtis’s friends asking for the child to be checked on.
Curtis was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse.
