Another Hearing Set For Man Accused Of Shooting At Officers

A Hopkinsville man charged with attempted murder for allegedly firing shots at police officers earlier this year will be back in court for a pretrial conference in January 2022.

Anthony Dyson is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment.

During a pretrial conference Wednesday morning, Dyson and his defense attorney, Marc Wells of Princeton, and Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling appeared before Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins.

Boling informed the judge they are making headway in the case and asked for another pretrial conference to be scheduled in January.

On January 1st, Hopkinsville police reported that Dyson fired shots at officers in an unmarked vehicle on West 13th Street near Bethel Street. Police said the unmarked vehicle and a car parked on the side of the road were hit but no one was injured in the shooting.
