Caldwell County resident and attorney Matt Schalk has announced he is running for the District Judge of the 56th Judicial Circuit seat in the 2022 Election.
Schalk, along with wife Mary Sue and their 9-month old daughter, Anna Catherine, were on hand at the Caldwell County Courthouse Friday morning, along with two witnesses, George Barber and Robert Hayes, as County Clerk Toni Watson notarized Schalk’s paperwork to be filed in Frankfort with the Secretary of State’s Office.
Schalk tells the News Edge he has been a practicing attorney for approximately 15 years.
According to Schalk, he is originally from northern Kentucky and moved to Caldwell County about 15 years ago.
If elected, he wants to use his experience on the bench to serve the community.
