A Sharon Grove man is charged with hitting a woman with a baseball bat on West 7th Street in Hopkinsville Saturday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Scott Cruit was seen on camera at the Dollar General hitting a woman in the face with a metal baseball bat before it was taken away from him by the woman’s spouse.
He then reportedly entered the store and started causing a disturbance by shouting and challenging employees. Cruit was arrested and taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he allegedly became combative and fought with jail employees, officers, and medical staff.
He is charged with second-degree assault and public intoxication.
