City of Cadiz Mayor Todd King is seeking a third-consecutive term in the office, after filing for re-election late Tuesday afternoon to join the 2022 race.
A long-time local business owner of King’s Funeral Home, King served on the Cadiz City Council prior to his first mayoral term that began in 2014.
In 2018, King won his second term in office after defeating challenger Guy Gosnell with 84 percent of the vote while carrying all three precincts.
King has been Cadiz mayor since Lyn Bailey’s retirement in 2014, and at this current juncture is the only person to announce for the 2022 mayoral race. The mayoral race is non-partisan and will appear on the November 2022 ballot.
Candidates have until June 7, 2022, statewide to file for non-partisan races.
