Christian County Reports COVID Death, Increase In Weekly Cases

In its weekly COVID-19 update, the Christian County Health Department reported the death of a 67-year-old male due to the coronavirus.

The report said the unvaccinated male had underlying conditions. To date, 136 Christian County residents have died from COVID-19 which ranks 14th among Kentucky’s 120 counties.

The weekly report showed 170 active cases in Christian County – up from 124 last week and the first increase in a month.

Of the 72 new cases reported in the past week, 26-percent are pediatric cases with only seven percent involving people who are vaccinated.

Starting next Wednesday, the health department will be offering pediatric Pfizer vaccines for children between the ages of 5 and 11 on Wednesdays between 7:45 and noon and between 1 and 4:15. Parents or guardians need to be present for all pediatric vaccines.

The health department is also offering vaccines to people of all ages on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
